Coolest Beauty Bar in Town!

Dearest Reader,

This post has been long time in the making; to be more specific, 10 years.

Disclaimer: This is not a paid partnership! This is just me sharing my personal experience related to Suzie’s Beauty Bar on the Highstreet in Sidcup 🙂

I think it’s important we look after ourselves and do things that make us happy, physically and / or mentally. I like looking after myself. Back in Romania, I saw the same beautician for 5 years, had my manicure and pedicure done by the same person for 8 years and had my hair done by the same person for 7 years. As you can tell, to say I am a creature of habit, is an understatement 🙂

Moving to the UK in 2014, I found myself having to look for new places where I could get the level of service I was accustomed to.

I found Suzie by accident. I went a couple of times to a hair salon on the Highstreet in Sidcup to get my hair done and on my third visit I heard they also had a beautician in. I was desperate to find a new beautician. For about a year, I would do my own mani and pedi or I would get them done when I would go back to Romania to visit friends and family about every three months. I did adventure outside my comfort zone once and tried another salon in Sidcup and they have, let’s put it this way, not earned my loyalty, and that is putting it mildly.

Suzie was a self-employed beautician renting a room in the hair salon. The first session I had with Suzie, I felt so at ease. The experience I had at the other salon scarred me a little bit as I was used to a pain-free (as much as possible when you are waxing!) experience. Suzie had a different waxing technique to what I experienced before but she was super quick and the experience painless.

I was so happy with the experience that I followed her as a client when she left the first salon and moved to another one in Sidcup. After seeing her for about two and a half years, I moved from Sidcup, Kent to Fulham, West London. I continued going back to Sidcup once a month for my appointments with Suzie. It was fun and it always felt like going for a road trip from West London to South-East London 🙂

After another three years, I moved back to South-East London, the Blackheath area, which is only about a twenty-minute drive to Sidcup, and I am always looking forward to my monthly appointment with Suzie. She now has her own salon, Suzie’s Beauty Bar, located on the Sidcup Highstreet. Call me biased, but she is so good that she cannot take walk-ins, she is always fully booked. You must make sure you book way in advance. I usually book 5-6 months in advance to make sure I get the Saturday appointments I want. I work in Central London, and I can’t make mid-week appointments.

Suzie’s Beauty Bar is one of my happy places. Every time I go to Suzie’s, see her team, Demi, my trusted hairdresser, and Suzie, I feel energised. I love my chats with Suzie and her laughter and good mood are always contagious! I even have my own playlist on Spotify (created by Suzie and Maddie for me 🙂 ) that gets put on when I am in.

I still say to her sometimes that her technique is so interesting, and she is so quick that I don’t even feel when she’s done the waxing. Isn’t that just exactly what you want from a waxing session?! My brows are always natural and perfect! 🙂 And the mani and pedi! Oh my! I feel like a million £ every time I get my nails done by Suzie. I am always spoiled for colour; you can find a wide variety that caters to all tastes and moods 🙂 I cannot wait to get the new orange-salmon colour she’s told me about this week that she just had delivered!

The rest is history! I never looked back and I have been one of her regular, and I hope, one of favourite clients since! 🙂 Also, we’ve become good friends over the years, if I may say so! 🙂

Therefore, in my humblest opinion, Suzie’s Beauty Bar is the coolest beauty bar in town!

Sending you positive vibes!

Miss B

P.S. I forgot to say! Suzie, if you are reading this, I am bringing the brew on the 17th! 🙂
